Brett Weiss's (full disclosure: he's my uncle) new book on classic home video games from 1985-1988 can be found at the publisher's site here (no doubt the book will appear on Amazon after publication). This is a follow-up to his earlier book covering the years 1972-1984. I'm looking forward to this one, as the systems covered include the 8-bit NES (aka the "FamiCon" for you Japanese readers out there) and the Sega master system, both of which featured largely in my childhood.
A lot of my early reading practice came from playing Dragon Warrior --- I wonder what my elementary school teachers thought of all the "A slime draws near", "You lose 5 HP", etc. that appeared in my daily journal at the time.
